A collaboration between HARC and the US ARMY Career Skills Program (CSP) HARC hosts military members transitioning to the civil life to join HARC operations during the last 180 days of military service to improve employment options in the biology, chemistry, mechanics, farming, forestry and conservation careers upon the member separation from the military.

The CSP internship program begins with a two-week rotation that introduces interns to various key locations and operations. Interns gain hands-on experience at the HARC Kunia Station, working in the laboratory, field, and education and outreach departments. They also spend time at the Mililani AgrivoltaicResearch and Development Center, where they learn about crop cultivation and sustainable agricultural practices. In addition, interns rotate through the Maunawili Breeding Station, engaging in orchard and forestry projects. After the initial 2 weeks period, the interns have the opportunity to choose between working across the stations and departments or spending the rest of the internship working in their prefer department.
