HARC Celebrates 2015 International Year of Soils

The United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) declared 2015 the International Year of Soil in order to "increase awareness and understanding of the importance of soil for food security and essential ecosystem functions". To learn more about what organizations around the world are doing to get involved, check out FAO's IYS website.

HARC has planned a series of workshops promoting soil health here in Hawaii along with its partners at Oahu Resource Conservation & Development Council, the Natural Resource Conservation Service, the Soil and Water Conservation Districts, and other interested farmers and businesses.

Check out these organizations websites as well as our Publications page for more information!
